It's funny how a certain urge to stay comes over you in the eleventh hour when you need to leave. As I write this, I'm only days away from leaving ever stunning London to spend a few weeks in good old Denmark. A certain link could be made to recent political events (pun, pun), and to linger on the topic for a split second I urge you all to have a look at this TED talk by Alexander Bretts enlightening the topic from some unexpected angles - it's absolutely phenomenal, and I don't say this lightly. Now, although I have many big cities yet to discover in the world, London remains in the top of my list. Needless to say I love it here, why I as the Australian-Danish (Austranish / Danistralian) morph I am decided to put down the pegs here three years ago.
Now London - as with any city - requires a bit of pillow-re-fluffing every now and then, as one only need to witness so and so many rainy days before the glory becomes difficult to see. Changing your postcode for a few days can perform wonders, and there's nothing like checking in to Hotel Café Royal right in the heart of London's centre. Your clothes look different on the hangers, Google maps gets replaced by a gentleman in a top hat and you see your city from a different angle when you swap your front door for historical revolving doors (providing hours of entertainment, naturally).
